Dirk Fowler, Professor of Communication Design, will be the featured artist at the Lubbock Arts Festival this weekend, May 1-3 at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center. Fowler creates his incredible artwork by hand using a printing press he bought on E-bay and is featured among 100 other artists who will also be at the festival.

His posters have appeared in several books as well, including The Art of Modern Rock, New Masters of Poster Design, Vintage Typography and Swag 2 for which he co-wrote the forward. In 2007 he was featured in Texas Monthly magazine. Some internationally known bands he has designed for are Wilco, The Raconteurs and New York Dolls and some hometown favorites like the Thrift Store Cowboys.”
