This summer’s Marfa Intensive, presented by TTU’s School of Theatre & Dance July 23 – August 3 in Marfa, included the participation of School of Art MFA students Nicolle LaMere, Monica Prado, PhD candidate Jason Derouin, Assistant Professor Heather Warren-Crow, and alumnus Philip Monaghan of New York City.

A few years ago, Tim Crowley, a graduate of the TTU Theatre & Dance program and Marfa resident, proposed the idea to Mark Charney, Director of the School of Theatre and Dance, to provide a special experience for students, a place where they could take advantage of the environment to create theatre and art based on their surroundings. Out of these conversations the Marfa Intensives were born. Last year three art students were invited to participate.  The generous offer, from Mr. Crowley who hosts the Intensives,  and Mark Charney who organizes them,  was extended again this summer.
