JAMES CHASE Receives “Best Visual Artist Award” from Local Arts Commission

JAMES CHASE (2014 MFA in Studio Art – Printmaking) who now lives in Hookset, New Hamphire with his wife Amy, received a “Best Visual Artist” award from the Rochester Arts and Culture Commission this month.

In other news, James recently accepted the position as Director of Community Education and Visual Arts Faculty at the New Hampshire Institute of Art in Manchester.  He had previous served as Fine Arts, Humanities and Languages Program Coordinator at Manchester Community College.

Over the summer he was in a 2-person exhibition entitled “Layerical Swords” with ceramic artist Justin Gerace at the Chases Garage Artist Studio and Gallery in York, Maine.  He has also received a commission to start large multi-location public arts project in Rochester.

James  serves on the New Hampshire Humanities Steering Committee that has received a Mellon Foundation Grant to Support the Humanities in the amount of $824,000 over the next three years.
