Piotr Chizinski, BFA Sculpture/Photography 2007 is rapidly becoming not just a national but an international figure with his photography on “social status.” He is a selected artist for the Guangzhou Biennial of Photography in China this May where he will exhibit and discuss his work. Still on the international scene, he will be traveling to Hilmsen Germany for a two month residency that is being supported by a grant from the Kansas City Artist Coalition.

The good fortune continues for him. Recently, as he applied for graduate school, portfolio in hand, he sold two pieces of art to Cornell University. These two works will hang in the front foyer of the Center for the Study of Inequality at the University and will be included in the power point they present to students on Class-ism.

Good things don’t just come in threes for Chizinski. “I have also been asked by the curator of FOTOFEST to be apart of the exhibition. I am currently trying to find funds to pay for the airfare to be apart of it.” explains Chizinski.

Additionally, he received a second place from the Center for Digital Art in LA, and will be part of an exhibition there sometime later this year.  ”I also have two works in the Texas National curated by Mel Chin,” said Chizinski.  See Kimbrough.

Chizinski modestly describes his recent successes as a “good effort.”
